128. John Cannon

NOTE Both of John's children named John were still alive in 1645. The elder
son John's will was proved 13 Jan 1645/6, and mentions his younger brother
John.
The "Commonplace Book of Ballafreer" mentions that a certain Nicholas Kewley
was married to "Elliner Cannan daughter to Wm. of Airey ny Goan in the parrish
of Kk Michael. The Cannans were not long there. They were out of Ball
Chruink in the Parrish of KK Braddan Baldin." The William Cannon of Airey
ny Goan is child #2 William, and Eary ny Gowin was purchased by this John
Cannon. Interestingly, this John Cannon mentions a brother William Cannon
in his will. There was a William Cannon living at Ball Chruink (or
Ballacruink), Baldwin, Kirk Braddan at this time, apparently the son of a
Hughon Cannon or McCannon. It would seem likely that said William is the
brother mentioned in this John's will, and that both are probably sons
of Hughon Cannon/McCannon. (Research by Nigel Crowe, Isle of Man)
