Hi, I checked out your work and it looks pretty darn good! You really have added a lot of material. The links to the Library dedication event and Chris's page are a good touch. I need to talk to you more about trying to bring up the documents.

1/21/2003 This is great, to find this collection of pictures. I am Enola (Warden) Thompson. the one that brought the Shotwell book up to date from our grandfather William Shotwell. I see a lot of pictures that I have never saw before. I will print some of them off. I have collected a lot of informatiom down the Shotwell line in the last few years. With lots of Kings being in our direct Ancestors.

My name is Susan Hardie Rolfe. My great, great-
grandfather was George Q. Cannon. My great-
grandfather was Frank J. Cannon. I am very
interested in all things Cannon these days, as I
am putting together a compendium of material for
my children and grand-children. I shall check back
periodically to see what's been added. If I find
anything unique among my own "stuff", I will
certainly pass it on.

Thank you so much for all the great information on your site!  Some of it I already had, but some is new to me, and very much appreciated.  I am a direct decendant of Edward Hunter's through the  Olive Louisa Bingham line.
I particularly enjoyed seeing the letters written in his own hand and being able to see his actual signature.  (Has anyone ever done a "translation" or transcription of the letters?  They are quite hard to decipher here online.)
I also very much enjoyed seeing the pictures of his homes in Nauvoo and SLC.  I had the privilege of seeing the Nauvoo house in person when I was a child, and I have a brick from it that was obtained by family friends who were visiting at the time it was being torn down.  Thanks again for your extensive work and for providing this great link to the past!  Marsha Hunter Paletsas, CA

Hi, This is the first time I have seen the George & Ann site...very interesting. I note that it refers to the "missing" Treasury books. I agree with you that it would be nice if there was a direct entry into GQC as a seperate site. I will try coming through a search.

Hunter,

Great to know that this exists.  I'm going to forward it on to a cousin that I met while working for USAID in Honduras.  She was a Peace Corps volunteer and a great-great grand-daughter of George Q. by Sarah Jenne (i think).  Running into a cousin in Honduras is only possible if your great grandfather had 30 kids!  My daughter Emily is spending this school year in Scotland and found a cousin there at St. Andrews.  Amazing family and I'm glad you're contributing to the documentation of George Q.

take care - Steve Q.

Announcment: The best of Elder Abraham H. Cannon's journals is now available for purchase in a brand-new 500 page hardcover book.  Edited by Dennis B. Horne (author of Bruce R. McConkie: Highlights from His Life and Teachings), and published by Gnolaum Books, this abridgment contains the most interesting excerpts from the journals of Abram H. Cannon--including the deliberations, discussions and decisions of the First Presidency and Twelve Apostles, 1889-95.  Titled "An Apostle's Record: The Journals of Abraham H. Cannon", it will be available the first week of January at many fine LDS bookstores, including the BYU Bookstore and BYU Studies website, Eborn Books (500 E. 300 S. SLC; 539-1231), Benchmark Books (3300 S, Main, SLC), and Sam Weller Zions books (downtown). All descendants of the George Q. Cannon family will love it.  Only 1000 were printed.  Enjoy!
